The Koksa radar

The Koksa radar in place in Bodø

This radar originally stood on the roof of the SAS hangar at Fornebu Airport, and is called the Koksa radar. The Koksa radar sits inside the radar dome and was lifted into place before the dome was assembled. The Koksa radar was operational at Oslo Airport Fornebu from 1963 until the airport was closed in 1998.

A new approach radar for Fornebu Airport was ordered from a French supplier. This was installed on the roof of the SAS hangar at Koksa, Fornebu. The Koksa radar was a ground surveillance radar, used to control the traffic of aircraft on the ground.
